Instructions for Glue-On Thigh Pockets
Positioning:
We recommend that you do not guess where to position the pocket, it can
be difficult to get it exactly where you want it. Take the time to put on your
exposure suit and your BCD, then, using a grease pencil, mark exactly
where you want your pocket. The preferred location would be directly
underneath and slightly above where your hand falls naturally on your thigh
such that your fingers can reach completely into the bottom of the pocket.
Some sidemount divers are now placing the pocket on the back of their
thigh. Next, remove your exposure suit, lay it flat and prepare to attach the
pocket.
Gluing:
It is best to prep the surface of the suit where the pocket is to be adhered
by applying a small amount of Cotol 240 or toluene (not included). Rub it
with a clean, lint-free cloth until dry.
Using the small applicator brush (included), apply the entire ¾ oz. tube
of AquaSeal, half to the suit and half to the back of the pocket. Wait 10
minutes. Place the pocket on to the suit. Place a large flat object like a
book or a board on top of it and then add some dive weights or equivalent.
Allow it to cure for at least 24 hours. Do not peel it up to check on it during
this 24-hour period.
